ABOUT US

The Cornell Undergraduate Asia Business Society (CUABS) is a global network of highly motivated student leaders who seek to impact Cornell and the greater business community. To achieve this vision, we empower our members by building their professional and leadership skills and fostering a tight-knit community centered around our shared values: leadership, family, and excellence.

FOUNDING STORY

The Cornell Undergraduate Asia Business Society was founded in 2010 by friends Iwan Kurniawan (AEM ‘12) and David Lam (Economics ‘12). The pair wanted to create a community where students aspiring to be business leaders in Asia and beyond could collaborate and share about their career aspirations and experiences at Cornell University.

While several business organizations already existed on campus, they wanted CUABS to be different. They wanted it to be a place where students could push each other to be their best, mentor one another, and most importantly, find a family on campus.

CUABS initially started off as a handful of friends passionate about business in Asia and has since blossomed. Today, CUABS has over 60 members that can be found all over campus making a positive difference. With more than 100 alumni working in various industries in cities all across the globe, ranging from investment banking in New York City, to venture capital in Beijing, the CUABS network stays strong even after graduating from Cornell.

While we have grown tremendously since our inception, we have never lost our focus on being a tight-knit family of like-minded people who support one another’s dreams.
